Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Respiratory Therapy program required.
• Current, valid license to practice as a Registered Respiratory Therapist or Certified Respiratory Therapist in the state of employment required.
• Current BLS certification from a CORALVITA-approved vendor required.
• ACLS certification from a CORALVITA-approved vendor required within six (6) months of hire.
• One (1) year critical care and/or artificial airway and ventilator care experience preferred.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements; strong organizational and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial assessments and deliver respiratory care per care plan and physician orders.
• Actively participates in interdisciplinary team processes and reports patient status per policy.
• Document assessments, progress notes, discharges, and daily intervention notes for each treatment.
• Monitor inventory and equipment at bedside and in storage; calibrate and QC equipment; assist in disinfection and sterilization.
• Provide patient, family and staff education as appropriate.
• Ensure implementation and monitoring of Infection Control Program following policies and safety regulations.
• Attend facility meetings and participate in continuing education to maintain licensure and competence.
