Position Purpose:
- The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT), within the Ohio Scope of Practice, provides therapeutic procedures and diagnostic testing to chronically and acutely ill patients requiring respiratory procedures.
What You Will Do:
- Provide Respiratory Care, ensure patient safety, promote evidence-based practices and quality initiatives, and exhibit professionalism in patient and family care.
- Perform duties outside normal routine patient care as required.
- Initiate and administer therapeutic procedures, diagnostic tests, and education according to departmental policies.
- Record patient assessments and maintain departmental records.
- Precept new employees and participate in student clinical rotations.
- Maintain knowledge of and ability to operate respiratory therapy equipment.
- Communicate clinical information and collaborate with healthcare team members regarding patient care plans.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Completion of a 2 or 4-year Respiratory Care Program or equivalent educational requirements for registry eligibility.
- Licensure/Certification: Ohio Respiratory Care Professional License and NBRC credential (RRT or CRT).
- Experience: Clinical experience in adult and neonatal respiratory procedures, including aerosolized medication delivery, mechanical ventilation, intubations/extubations, pulmonary function tests, emergency care, and arterial blood gas analysis.
- Current BLS certification.
