Position Purpose:

• The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT), within the Ohio Scope of Practice, provides therapeutic procedures and diagnostic testing to chronically and acutely ill patients requiring respiratory procedures.

What You Will Do:

• Provide Respiratory Care, ensure patient safety, promote evidence-based practice and quality initiatives, and exhibit professionalism in patient and family care.
• Perform duties outside normal routine patient care as needed.
• Initiate and administer therapeutic procedures, diagnostic tests, and education according to departmental policies.
• Record patient assessments and maintain departmental records.
• Precept new employees and participate in clinical rotations for students.
• Maintain knowledge of and ability to operate respiratory therapy equipment.
• Communicate clinical information and collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members regarding patient care plans.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Completion of a 2 or 4-year Respiratory Care Program or equivalent educational requirements for credentialing.
• Licensure/Certification: Ohio Respiratory Care Professional License and NBRC RRT or CRT credential.
• Experience: Clinical experience with adult and neonatal respiratory procedures including aerosolized medication delivery, mechanical ventilation, intubations, pulmonary function tests, emergency care, and arterial blood gases.
• Current BLS certification.
