Job summary

UT Health East Texas in Henderson, TX is seeking a day shift, full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our patient-centered team.

Under the supervision of the Respiratory Care Supervisor, you will deliver care for acute and chronic respiratory conditions, adhere to department policies, and participate in education, research, and leadership activities as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate from COARC accredited respiratory care program.
• Licensed practitioner by the State of Texas Medical Board.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist with NBRC.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire.
• ACLS certification required.
• NRP certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care to those with acute and chronic respiratory problems.
• Work under the Respiratory Care Supervisor and follow dept. policies.
• Involvement across General Therapy, Critical Care, Education and Leadership.

Licensed by the State of Texas Medical Board

Certified Respiratory Therapist (NBRC)

BLS certification within 14 days of hire

ACLS

NRP within 6 months

• UT Health Henderson features 41 operational beds, a 24-hour ED, designated as a Level IV trauma center and Level III stroke center with surgical suites, advanced diagnostic technology, a maternity unit, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation and an AASM-accredited sleep center.

Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the Respiratory Care Supervisor and according to specific instructions and established departmental policies and procedures, provides patient care to those suffering from acute and chronic respiratory problems. Job duties and responsibilities are related to General Therapy, Critical Care, Education, Processing Control, Pulmonary Services Research, and Leadership.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Graduate from COARC accredited respiratory care program.
• Licensed practitioner by the State of Texas Medical Board.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist with the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 6 months of hire.
