Job summary

UT Health Tyler is seeking a night shift, full-time Respiratory Therapist in Tyler, TX to support patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions in a busy hospital setting.

You will work under the Respiratory Care Supervisor, delivering care per established policies, participating in education initiatives, quality improvement, and interdisciplinary collaboration with a Level I trauma center and NICU. The team emphasizes professional growth, wellness, and compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate from COARC accredited respiratory care program.
• Licensed practitioner by the State of Texas Medical Board.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist with the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Under the guidance of the Respiratory Care Supervisor, provides patient care to those suffering from acute and chronic respiratory problems.
• Performs general therapy, critical care, education, processing control, and pulmonary services research activities as required.
• Participates in leadership responsibilities within the Respiratory Care team.
