RHA Health Services, LLC in Greenville, NC is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide professional respiratory care to pediatric patients, including those with tracheostomies, in a residential setting. This on-site, full-time role emphasizes safety, documentation, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.

The Respiratory Therapist will administer treatments, monitor equipment, educate staff and families, and help maintain infection control and quality assurance.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program.
• Active Respiratory Care Practitioner license in North Carolina (required).
• Minimum two years of respiratory therapy experience preferred; IDD populations experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver approved respiratory therapy services following physician orders and regulatory standards.
• Assess and monitor patients' respiratory needs; modify care plans as needed.
• Maintain timely documentation in medical records (assessments, treatments, equipment).
• Communicate changes in patient condition to nursing staff and leadership.
• Administer respiratory treatments and medications as prescribed; train staff where applicable.
• Lead interdisciplinary team meetings with updates on respiratory conditions and recommendations.
• Maintain and monitor respiratory equipment and supplies; ensure availability and functionality.
• Provide training to staff, families and service users on respiratory care practices and emergency protocols.
• Support workers’ compensation and injury prevention with respiratory health measures.
• Participate in quality assurance and facility assessments; uphold infection control procedures.

No relocation packaged offered.Schedule: 12 hour shifts; 7am - 7pm**We are seeking passionate Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRTs) who are committed to caring for pediatric patients, primarily those with tracheostomies.**Duties and Responsibilities:Deliver approved respiratory therapy services to all assigned service users in accordance with physician orders and regulatory standards.Assess, monitor, and evaluate service users’ respiratory needs; provide interventions and modify care plans as needed.Maintain clear and timely documentation in medical records, including respiratory assessments, treatments, and equipment use.Communicate changes in service user conditions to nursing staff, the Director of Respiratory, and other team members.Administer respiratory treatments and medications as prescribed, and train staff on proper administration when applicable.Lead and support interdisciplinary team meetings by providing updates on respiratory conditions and recommendations.Maintain and monitor respiratory equipment and supplies, ensuring availability and proper functionality.Provide training and education to staff, families, and service users on respiratory care practices and emergency protocols.Support workers’ compensation efforts by addressing respiratory health as part of injury prevention and care management.Participate in quality assurance and facility assessments (e.g., Mealtime, Environmental, Interaction, and Third Shift Assessments).Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area and ensure proper infection control procedures are followed.Support crisis management efforts and provide calm, professional care during emergencies.May access and appropriately handle protected health information (PHI) in compliance with HIPAA.Qualifications:Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy ProgramActive Respiratory Care Practitioner license in the state of North Carolina (required)Minimum two (2) years of respiratory therapy experience preferred; experience with IDD populations is a plusOther Duties:Demonstrates flexibility and commitment to meeting unit needs.Performs additional responsibilities as assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities:This position may or may not have supervisor responsibilities depending on the job profile.PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:Regularly required to lift 20 lbs.Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs.Must be able to pull a minimum of 25 lbs.Must be able to squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop.Must be able to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.Required to regularly stand and walk.Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in CPR from the floor level requiring to work on hands, knees, bending, standing and lifting.Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.Must be able to talk and hear.Pre-employment screening:Complete criminal backgroundName checked in the registries.
