Job summary

City Scape Rehabilitation and Care Center in Denver, CO seeks a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to improve residents' lung health in a skilled nursing setting. You will perform assessments, develop and implement treatment plans, administer therapies, monitor responses, and educate residents and families while maintaining accurate EMR documentation.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Valid state license to practice as a Respiratory Therapist.
  • NBRC certification as Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred.
  • Experience in long-term care or nursing home setting desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a healthcare team and independently.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments of residents’ respiratory status, including reviewing medical history and performing physical examinations.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on residents’ needs and established protocols.
  • Administer respiratory therapies including Acapella, Incentive Spirometry (IS), EZPAP, and Chest Physiotherapy (CPT).
  • Monitor residents’ responses to treatment and adjust care plans as necessary, in collaboration with the medical staff.
  • Educate residents and their families about respiratory health, treatment options, and best practices for managing respiratory conditions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of assessments, treatments, and progress notes in residents’ medical records.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss resident care and contribute to overall care strategies.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of respiratory equipment, adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Stay current with best practices and advancements in respiratory therapy and engage in ongoing professional development.

Work Schedule: Part time/ As needed- No Benefits

Pay Range: $37 - $45/ Hour; depending on experience

Job Summary:

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team and independently.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and documentation standards.
