Job summary

Ohio's Hospice, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist in Dayton to provide superior respiratory care and coordination of hospice services. The ideal candidate must have a valid CRT or RRT license, strong knowledge of respiratory care for conditions like COPD and ALS, and be CPR certified.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of complex respiratory patient care is needed.
  • Must be CPR certified and have sufficient computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide respiratory care and coordination of hospice services.
  • Respond to emergent patient needs and prioritize visits.
  • Manage visits for patients with ALS, COPD, and respiratory failure.

What You Should Know About the Respiratory Therapist Role:

  • M-F, weekend on call coverage may be necessary

Essential Duties:

Provide superior respiratory care and coordination of hospice services in a manner that meets specific patients need, Ohio’s Hospice standards, Medicare Conditions of Participation (COP) and achieves desired outcome of comfortable and peaceful death for patients. Respiratory visits will be prioritized on patients’ emergent needs, diagnosis, and complex equipment needs. Respiratory patient visits are required for patients with a diagnosis of ALS, COPD, Pulmonary Fibrosis, and Respiratory Failure. Visits for patients with lung cancer will be based on nurse request or respiratory complexity of patient’s care. Complex needs include C-PAP, BiPAP, Tracheostomy, and high flow O2.

Qualifications:
  • CRT or RRT license in the state of Ohio with no board action.
  • Experience in hospital, home care and DME settings preferred.
  • Knowledge of C-PAP, BiPAP, High Flow O2, tracheostomy and transport needs of complex respiratory patients.
  • CPR Certified
  • Computer skills sufficient to properly document services and care.
  • Ability to drive during daytime, nighttime or inclement weather.
  • Valid Driver's License with Safe Driving Record
  • State Minimum Automobile Insurance Coverage
