Job summary

North End Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Boston is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for full-time and part-time roles. Shifts available: 7 AM–7 PM and 7 PM–7 AM.

You will perform assessments, develop treatment plans with physicians, administer therapies, manage ventilator-dependent residents, and educate residents and families. RRT credential and state licensure are required, with at least three years of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• RRT credential from NBRC required.
• Current state licensure required.
• 3 years of respiratory therapy experience preferred.
• Experience with tracheostomy care and ventilator management in SNF/LTACH/hospital settings required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive chest assessments and respiratory examinations for a diverse resident population.
• Consult with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop, evaluate, and modify treatment plans.
• Perform diagnostic testing, including lung capacity measurements and evaluation of blood gas levels.
• Administer respiratory therapies, including oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy.
• Manage and monitor ventilator-dependent residents, including initiation of ventilator support when necessary.
• Conduct regular monitoring of residents’ respiratory status and ensure proper functioning of respiratory equipment.
• Educate residents and families on respiratory treatments, equipment use, and medication administration.
• Maintain accurate documentation of treatments, assessments, and resident progress in accordance with clinical standards.

Qualifications for Respiratory Therapist:

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care required.
• Current state licensure required.
• Minimum of 3 years of respiratory therapy experience preferred.
• Experience with tracheostomy care and ventilator management in a skilled nursing facility, LTACH, or hospital setting required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively engage residents, families, and clinical teams.
