Job summary

Elite Nursing and Rehabilitation in Birmingham, AL is seeking a compassionate Respiratory Therapist to provide high-quality respiratory care within our skilled nursing and long-term care community.

You will assess residents, administer therapies, monitor oxygen equipment, and communicate changes to the care team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. A CRT or RRT license and BLS certification are required, with ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Current CRT or RRT license in good standing.
• Current BLS certification.
• ACLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory treatments and therapies as ordered by the physician.
• Assess and monitor resident respiratory status during treatments and rounds.
• Identify changes in condition and promptly communicate concerns to nursing and providers.
• Assist with management of oxygen therapy and oxygen equipment.
• Monitor residents utilizing respiratory devices and therapies.
• Perform routing respiratory assessment including breath sounds, respiratory effort, oxygen saturation, and treatment effectiveness.
• Recognize early sign of respiratory decline and initiate appropriate communication and intervention.

Respiratory Qualifications

Required
