Job description

Position Summary:

Responsible for the smooth operational functions of the Respiratory Care Department. Delivers advanced professional and technical respiratory care to patients of all ages with real or potential life-threatening illnesses presenting to all units for care. Able to administer and monitor mechanical ventilation to all age groups. Able to draw and analyze arterial and capillary blood gas samples. Able to run quality controls on the blood gas analyzers. Collaborates with the medical staff and disciplines in order to facilitate patient care.

Position Qualification:

• Associates or Bachelors Degree preferred.
• Five (5) years' experience in respiratory care in a hospital setting.
• Three (3) years of critical care experience.
• One (1) year NICU experience.
• One (1) year supervisory experience preferred.
• Excellent physical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Demonstrates leadership and time management skills.

Required Licenses/Certifications:

• Current State of Florida License as CRT, RRT or RCPCC is required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from American Heart Association.
• PALS and NRP certifications required.

Communication Skills:

Ability to effectively communicate in writing and orally with all levels of the organization.

Must clear background and drug test required.
