Description
SUMMARY:
This position performs pulse oximetry set-up and follow-up along with a variety of respiratory related follow-up tasks, including downloading, oxygen prescription, physician communication and sales of respiratory equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Contacts patients requiring pulse oximetry (pulse ox) to introduce DASCO and the pulse ox process.Sets pulse ox machine for new use; ships to patient and track delivery.Loads order into system in an accurately and timely mannerDownloads test results and sends to doctor.If patient qualifies ; request prescription, documentation and follow up.Cleans returned machines and changes batteries.Schedules patients with local branch healthcare professional for Medicaid requalification.Initiates overnight pulse ox prescriptions for respiratory related diagnoses as well as requests renewal prescriptions for the Breathe Easy Program.If patient or doctor requests discontinuance of oxygen, requests script and follows-up for testing to confirm oxygen services are no longer needed.Grow DASCO oxygen census internally.Other duties as assigned by the Manager.Requirements
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or GED equivalent.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Six months' experience in a medical/insurance/healthcare field.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position has no supervisory role.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates primarily in a professional office. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This is a tactile role, routinely handling respiratory testing equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The employee is typically required to sit; occasionally required to stand, climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include both close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
TRAVEL:
Travel is not typically required for this position.
