Job summary

The University of Pittsburgh Department of Family Medicine is seeking research assistants to support multi-site respiratory virus studies across Allegheny County. RAs will assist with recruitment, screening, consent, sample collection, surveys, and participant payments, and help manage study tasks.

The role requires reliable transportation, ability to commute to multiple clinical sites, and training in human subjects protection; background checks may be required along with flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Must obtain Act 33/34 clearances and FBI background checks.
• Excellent oral and interpersonal skills and reliable, organized.

Responsibilities

• Assist with recruitment and enrollment of participants at sites throughout Allegheny County.
• Screen for eligibility, obtain consent, collect samples (nose/throat swabs) for viruses, and administer surveys.
• Enter data into electronic databases and maintain study records.
• Coordinate site visits, manage inventories, and communicate with participants.
• May escort participants between sites and work independently at enrollment locations.
