McLaren Health Care is seeking a Respiratory Therapist assistant in Michigan to support prescribed gas delivery and therapeutic treatments under the supervision of a respiratory therapist. The role involves patient care rounds, oxygen therapy, and education, with equipment operation and maintenance responsibilities.
Requires High school diploma or GED, ongoing CoARC-approved respiratory care program, and BLS certification. Daily work times vary, with no on-call requirement.

Position Summary: Under the direct supervision of a respiratory therapist, assists in the administration of prescribed doses of medical gases and the set-up and administration of therapeutic treatment and aerosolized drugs to patients. Uses oxygen mixtures in conjunction with therapeutic respiratory therapy equipment.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
5. Treats patients using a variety of methods including chest physiotherapy, aerosol medications, and non-invasive methods such as CPAP and BIPAP therapies.
11. Actively pursues education and training necessary to become a respiratory therapist.
12. Performs other related duties as required and directed.
