Job summary

AdventHealth in Shawnee Mission, Kansas is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join the clinical team and deliver high-quality patient care across ICU and other units.

You will apply respiratory therapy protocols, monitor patient status, collaborate with physicians and nurses, and participate in staff development and safety compliance.

Requires RRT or NBRC RRT, BLS, Associate’s degree; 3+ years of critical care experience; proficiency in English.

Qualifications

• 3+ years critical care experience
• State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• BLS CPR certification
• Associate's degree required; Bachelor's preferred
• Ability to read, write, and speak conversational English

Responsibilities

• Review scheduling and staffing needs to ensure efficient resource use
• Serve as liaison between staff and department leadership
• Maintain professional relationships with patients, families, and healthcare team
• Demonstrate leadership, communication, initiative, and professional growth
• Assist with clinical duties and maintain required clinical competencies
• Adhere to safety regulations and hospital policies
• Participate in orientation, leadership, and performance improvement activities
• Complete performance appraisals and provide staff guidance as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned
