Job summary

UChicago Medicine is seeking a Respiratory Therapist Student, PRN, a second-year student in an accredited Respiratory Care Program, to perform basic respiratory care under supervision.

The role includes administering oxygen and inhalation therapies, implementing airway clearance techniques and documenting in the EPIC system, all while maintaining patient status under licensed supervision.

Shifts are flexible with 12-, 10-, or 8-hour options; unit: Respiratory Care Services; CBA: Non-Union.

Qualifications

• Second-year student in an approved respiratory care program with evidence of continued enrollment.
• Basic Life Support Healthcare provider certification (American Heart Association).
• Must demonstrate effective and accurate communication, documentation and technical skills.

Responsibilities

• Administers supplemental oxygen as prescribed and documents procedures.
• Administers inhalation therapies (nebulizers, MDI, etc.) and documents in EPIC in real time.
• Performs bronchopulmonary hygiene and airway clearance techniques per protocol and documents in EPIC.
