These patients often need ongoing, intensive care after leaving a traditional hospital but are not yet well enough to transition to rehabilitation or home care. ELTACH treats about 400 patients a year with an average 30-day length of stay, 95% of whom come directly from an ICU setting and 65% of whom come in on a ventilator. The acuity level at ELTACH is one of the highest in the nation.
