Schedule: 6:45 am - 7:15 pm / Full Time / 36 Hours / WEO
This role defines the Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) who serves as a clinician at the clinical departments in both inpatient and outpatient areas. Employs evidence-based practice, department and service area initiatives, and grows professionally. Adheres to the Emory Behavioral Standards and Service Culture Guidelines. Provides Patient and Family Centered Care and consistently meets departmental/hospital quality & safety goals.
Level of Competency: Completes and maintains all competencies. Guides others in policies and procedures in the clinical setting. Ensures competence in new areas. Checks equipment functionality and readiness for emergent situations, reporting failures as needed.
Assumption of Duties: Assesses unit work and reports to supervisor/charge, anticipates needs. Participates in patient rounds, identifies alternative therapies or mechanical ventilation options. Performs other duties as assigned.
Service Area Support: Suggests modifications to care, acquires resources, and serves as a ventilator management resource. Attends department meetings (75%) and educational offerings regularly.
Professional Activity: Participates in product evaluation, reviews policies, and attends professional conferences (every two years). Requires 10 CEUs annually.
