Qualifications

  • Current State RCP license required.
  • BLS certification required upon hire and maintained.
  • ACLS certification required upon hire and maintained.
  • PALS certification preferred.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificate preferred.
  • Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Two years of acute care experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the physician, with emphasis on assessment, planning, implementation and documentation of care.
  • In the absence of a supervisor, may be designated Lead RCP with responsibility for the section or department during the shift.

Title: Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP I) Department: Respiratory Therapy

Per Diem, Variable Shift

Location: Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Maine

Pay: $32.00 to $40.01

Central Maine Healthcare (CMH), a member of Prime Healthcare Foundation, is an integrated healthcare delivery system serving approximately 400,000 residents across central, western, and midcoast Maine through a network of more than 40 primary and specialty care locations. The system includes Central Maine Medical Center (CMMC) in Lewiston, a 250-bed, not-for-profit regional referral hospital that is home to the region's only Cancer Care Center, an orthopedic ambulatory surgery center, and the Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute. CMMC also serves as the central Maine base for LifeFlight of Maine, the state's only medical helicopter service.

CMH also includes Bridgton Hospital and Rumford Hospital, two 25-bed critical access hospitals that provide essential care to Maine's rural communities.

Responsibilities

Under the direction and authorization of the medical director and cardiopulmonary director/manager, the RCP I is responsible for performing respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the physician. Emphasis will be toward the assessment, planning, implementation and documentation of care, with consideration of age and population specific needs and requirements of the patient. In the absence of a supervisor, may be assigned/identified as Lead RCP, having responsibility for the section or department during their shift.

Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
  • 1. Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.
  • 2. Basic Life Support (BLS) certified from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire and maintain current.
  • 3. Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the AHA or ARC certification upon hire and maintain current.
  • 4. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the AHA certification preferred.
  • 5. Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificate is preferred.
  • 6. Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
  • 7. High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 8. Two (2) years of acute care experience is preferred.
Pay Transparency

Central Maine Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $32.00 to $40.01. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
