Job summary

Cone Health is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner to assess, diagnose, and manage respiratory disorders in patients. You will develop and implement treatment plans, administer therapy, and monitor responses to optimize outcomes.

Qualifications include graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program, NC licensure, and BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications. This on-site role collaborates with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care and safety.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and graduate from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Licensed by the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board and by the National Board of Respiratory Care (RRT) within 6 months of hire; provisional license acceptable at hire in lieu of RRT.
• BLS (CPR) and ACLS/PALS certifications required or to be obtained as stated.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients with respiratory disorders and develop patient-specific treatment plans.
• Conduct diagnostic pulmonary function tests and interpret results.
• Administer respiratory therapy and operate ventilators and related equipment.
• Monitor patient responses and adjust therapy as directed by physicians.
• Coordinate discharge planning with physicians, nurses, and social workers.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory health and home care.
