Job summary

Froedtert Health in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) II to provide skilled respiratory care on-site in a hospital setting. The role involves 3 x 12-hour night shifts with a 0.9 FTE (36 hours/week) and holiday and every-third weekend rotations.

Requirements include an associate degree in respiratory care, Wisconsin licensure, NBRC RRT (CRT acceptable for incumbents prior to 7/1/21), BLS and ACLS; Bachelor's degree and AE-C are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of hospital-based respiratory care experience; 3+ years preferred.
• Associate degree from a CoARC accredited Respiratory Care program is required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Wisconsin license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner is required; NBRC RRT is required; CRT accepted for incumbents prior to 7/1/21.
• AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers is required; ACLS is required.
• Advanced credential (AE-C) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and deliver respiratory care for all patient populations and ages.
• Demonstrate competency in respiratory assessments and procedures in acute and critical care areas.
• Precept students on rotation and act as lead therapist as needed.
• Provide respiratory care under the Pulmonary Services Leadership team in accordance with hospital policies.

EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:

Minimum of 1 year of experience plus the ability to show RCP II competency within 6 months of hire/transfer into role is required. 3+ years of experience in a hospital setting providing respiratory care is preferred.

EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:

Associate degree from a CoARC accredited Respiratory Care program is required. Bachelor's degree is preferred.

SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:

Critical Thinking Skills Are Required.

LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:

State of Wisconsin license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner is required; Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) is required. For incumbents in this role prior to 7/1/21, the Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) will be accepted in lieu of the RRT. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required. American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required. Advanced specialty credential from the NBRC or Asthma Educator Certification(AE-C) from the National Asthma Educator Certification Board (NAECB) is preferred.
