Job summary

Providence Redwood Memorial Hospital is seeking a part-time Respiratory Care Practitioner to join the Respiratory Therapy Unit in Fortuna, CA. The RCP will work 12-hour variable shifts and support patients of all ages with diagnostic and therapeutic cardiopulmonary procedures.

The role requires graduation from an accredited respiratory therapy program, a California Respiratory Care Practitioner License on hire, and BLS certification at hire; ACLS/PALS within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a program in respiratory therapy approved by the AMA and relevant accrediting bodies.
• California Respiratory Care Practitioner License required upon hire.
• BLS from American Heart Association required upon hire; ACLS and PALS within 90 days of hire.
• Experience as a hospital-based respiratory care practitioner preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic cardiopulmonary procedures as per department standards.
• Act as patient advocate and team member in a 12-hour variable shift schedule.
• Deliver compassionate care to patients of various ages and provide customer service to patients and families.

Respiratory Care Practitioner in Respiratory Therapy Unit at Redwood Memorial Hospital. This position is Part time and will work 12-hour Variable Shifts.

The Respiratory Care Practitioner employs intellectual, interpersonal and technical skills to assist patients of various ages in achieving maximum health potential. The RCP functions as a health team member through independent, interdependent and dependent roles within the health care system. Serving as the patient's advocate, the RCP assumes responsibility and accountability for care of patients of various ages as defined by the department scope of service. The RCP performs diagnostic and therapeutic cardiopulmonary procedures and related activities according to department standards. Serves as customer service representative to patients, their families, the public, and the medical staff.

Required qualifications

• Coursework/Training - Graduate of a program in respiratory therapy approved by the Committee on Allied Health Education & Accreditation of the American Medical Association -or- On-the-job training.
• Upon hire: California Respiratory Care Practitioner License
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
• Required within 90 days of hire: National Provider ACLS - American Heart Association
• Required within 90 days of hire: National Provider PALS - American Heart Association
• Experience as a hospital-based respiratory care practitioner.

Preferred qualifications

• 2 years Acute care experience.
