Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to support the respiratory care department across operations and patient care. The role includes direct patient care per physician orders, coordination of care, and serving as a clinical resource to staff.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate from an Accredited College Program in Respiratory Care.
• Licensure: Must have a current license in the state of practice.
• Experience: One year as a respiratory therapist in a hospital setting.
• Certifications: Registered as a therapist by the NBRC (RRT). BLS. ACLS for Adult areas and NRP/PALS if working Neonatal/Pediatric areas.
• Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree.
• Preferred Experience: 3-5 years RRT (2+ years at Mercy).
• Preferred Other: Trained in ICU, NICU, PICU, ED, CORE or willing to be trained.

Responsibilities

• Assists in planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of operations and patient care in the respiratory care department.
• Serves as a clinical resource to staff and patients in the department.
• Performs direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory therapy according to physicians' orders.
• Assumes managerial duties delegated by the Supervisor, Manager and/or Director.
• Assesses and evaluates employees' responsibilities in a manner consistent with Corporate Values.
• Performs duties consistent with Mercy mission, values and service standards.
