Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to support planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of operations and patient care in the respiratory care department. The role serves as a clinical resource to staff and patients, performs direct patient care per physicians' orders, and may assume managerial duties as delegated.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an Accredited College Program in Respiratory Care.
  • Current license in the state of practice.
  • One year of experience as a respiratory therapist in a hospital setting.
  • RRT certification. BLS. ACLS for Adult areas and NRP/PALS if Neonatal/Pediatric areas.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of operations and patient care in the respiratory care department.

Qualifications
Position Details:
  • Education: Graduate from an Accredited College Program in Respiratory Care.
  • Licensure: Must have a current license in the state of practice.
  • Experience: One year as a respiratory therapist in a hospital setting.
  • Certifications: Registered as a therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care (RRT). BLS. Must be current in ACLS for Adult areas and NRP/PALS if working Neonatal/Pediatric areas.
Other
  • Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree.
Preferred Licensure
  • Preferred Experience: 3-5 years RRT (2+ years at Mercy).
Preferred Certifications
  • Preferred Other: Trained in all areas (ICU, NICU, PICU, ED, CORE) or willing to be trained.
