Job summary

Mercy Hospital St. Louis is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care per physician orders. The role works 7 pm–7 am, on-site at Saint Louis, MO, with a sign-on bonus up to $10,000.

Requires CoARC-approved education, current RCP license, NBRC RRT credential, and ACLS; ER staff may require PALS. Mercy offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities to grow with our care team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of CoArc approved Respiratory Care program.
• Meets state licensure requirements and has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by the NBRC. For ER coworkers, PALS is required.
• ACLS is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care per physician orders.
• Consult with physicians on effectiveness of therapy.
• Serve as an advanced resource for physicians and nursing staff in respiratory care.
• Perform duties as assigned.

Education

Graduate of CoArc approved Respiratory Care program.

Licensure

Meets state licensure requirements and has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.

Certifications

Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). For co-workers who work in the Emergency Room PALS is required.

Other

Physical demands are attached plus push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs. Plus, pinch up to 10 lbs., kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally. Equipment Used: All appropriate respiratory care devices.

Prefer critical care experience.
