Job summary

DMC Harper University/Hutzel Women's Hospital in Detroit is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join the Respiratory Services team on a PRN Night shift. Administer prescribed gases and aerosolized medications, perform blood gas analyses, and operate and maintain respiratory equipment.

Under direct supervision of licensed therapists, you will participate in patient care rounds, transport patients as needed, and help educate patients about equipment while collaborating with the Respiratory Case

Qualifications

• Completion of AMA/CoARC approved Respiratory Care program.
• HS diploma/GED with OJT for minimum of ten years.
• Associates degree in science.
• BLS certification required.

• Administers respiratory care under direct supervision and delivers prescribed gases and medications.
• Operates, calibrates, processes and maintains respiratory equipment; performs blood gas analyses.
• Provides patient care rounds and education; transports patients as needed.

Job Summary

Administers respiratory care under the direct supervision of Licensed Respiratory Therapist. Administers prescribed doses of medical gases and aerosolized drugs to patients and uses oxygen mixtures in conjunction with therapeutic respiratory therapy equipment. Performs blood gas analysis and maintenance on analyzers and provides/monitors routine oxygen therapy. Operates, calibrates, processes and maintains respiratory equipment. Sets up and administers therapeutic treatments. Performs patient care rounds, and interacts with the Respiratory Case Manager and/or Senior Respiratory Therapist in the development of the patients respiratory care plan. Performs patient transports. Educates patient, as needed, regarding the use of equipment.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of one year of an AMA/CoARC approved Respiratory Care program. OR High School diploma/GED with OJT for minimum of ten years. OR Associates degree in science.
• BLS certification required.
