Job Summary and Qualifications

The Respiratory Care Assistant (RT student) is responsible for cleaning, monitoring, and maintaining respiratory care equipment, stocking supplies, and ensuring equipment functionality. A positive attitude and teamwork are essential.

Essential Functions:

• Process respiratory equipment daily: disassemble, clean, assemble, and test according to policies and manufacturer recommendations.
• Communicate effectively with physicians and team members to meet patient needs.
• Contribute to hospital-wide improvements in safety, quality, and service.
• Evaluate work processes and participate in performance improvements.
• Share knowledge and foster teamwork.
• Adhere to the Code of Conduct, reflecting professional and ethical standards.

Qualifications Needed:

• High School Diploma or GED; enrolled in an approved Respiratory Care program.
• At least one semester of clinicals completed or relevant medical experience preferred.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification required.
