Job summary

UNC Health in Chapel Hill seeks a part-time Respiratory Therapy Assistant to support routine respiratory care for non-critically ill inpatients. You will assist RCPs, document patient information in the EMR, and operate under supervision within a structured hospital setting.

Candidate must be enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Care program, maintain good standing, and hold NCRCB RCA eligibility with BLS. Onsite schedule; standard hours per week: 8; salary range listed by UNC Health.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in good standing in an accredited Respiratory Care educational program approved by CoARC; one year completed required.
• Registered with the NCRCB as an RCA required; BLS for Healthcare Provider from AHA required.
• Completed competency evaluations for duties per NC Respiratory Care Board rules.

Responsibilities

• Assist respiratory therapist/technician in routine age-appropriate Respiratory Care procedures for general care to neonate through geriatric.
• Work under supervision of licensed respiratory care practitioner (RCP).
• Record all pertinent patient care information and enter into EMR.
• Adhere to departmental policies and NC declaratory ruling for duties.
