Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree; experience teaching diverse student populations in urban schools.
• Washington State Teaching Certificate with Special Education Endorsement.
• Ability to adapt instruction for students with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Foster an educational environment conducive to learning; plan instruction and adapt objectives for individual students.
• Implement approved curricula; attend in-service training to improve instructional techniques.
• Establish classroom policies; guide and discipline students to meet standards.
• Conference with students, parents, and staff to support student achievement.
• Develop IEP goals, monitor progress, and prepare parent reports.
• Direct non-certificated staff; support students' physical, emotional, and hygienic needs.
• Attend required staff meetings and district activities to achieve objectives.
