Job summary

Burlington Public Schools in Burlington, Massachusetts, is seeking a .6 Resource School Nurse to join our district-wide health team. The nurse provides professional health services, coordinates school and community resources, and supports student well‑being.

Required are MA RN licensure, a professional nursing degree, and 1–3 years in pediatrics or community health. The role involves collaboration with families and school staff, and may involve field coverage across district schools.

Qualifications

Graduate of a Professional Nursing Program approved by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.
Current license as a Registered Professional Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
1-3 years experience in pediatrics, community health or related field.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Required
Licensing in School Nursing by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education

Responsibilities

Assess and evaluate students’ health and related impacts on education.
Counsel students, parents and staff and plan action for health problems.
Lead identification of students with health needs affecting learning.
Provide preventive health programs and coordinate health services with other disciplines.
Collaborate with community health programs and state agencies as needed.
Maintain health records and document care provided.
Screen new students for immunizations and monitor compliance with regulations.
