Job summary

Young World Physical Education is seeking a Resource Room Teacher for the Bert Goens Learning Center in Lawrence, MI. You will design and implement individualized instructional plans for students, particularly those on the autism spectrum, and coordinate with nurses, therapists and teachers to meet each student’s goals.

You will maintain robust progress data, adapt programs as needed, and communicate with parents and school staff to ensure continuity of services and maximum educational gain.

Qualifications

• The candidate must have a bachelor's degree or higher in special education.
• Michigan teaching certificate with endorsement in special education required.
• Experience with students with disabilities; center-based program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized instructional programs aligned to IEP goals.
• Maintain accurate records reflecting student progress and program effectiveness.
• Collaborate with support staff, parents, and agencies to meet student needs.
• Provide leadership and direction to classroom support staff.
