Job summary

Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) in Lakeview, Michigan, is seeking a passionate Special Education Teacher to foster the growth of K-12 students. You will create and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) while collaborating with families and staff to support student progress in a welcoming school environment.

Your role will also involve preparing detailed lesson plans, participating in IEP meetings, and ensuring a safe and productive classroom. Join a dedicated team where your efforts contribute to the success of all children!

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in a relevant field.
• Experience working with K-12 children.
• Special Education Teacher License that includes K-3.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute Individualized Education Plans (IEP) for each student.
• Communicate with staff and families about student progress.
• Prepare detailed lesson plans for administration approval.
• Participate in IEP meetings as scheduled.
• Use reinforcement techniques to support student growth.
• Invite families to engage in educational progress.
• Create and distribute quarterly progress reports.
• Confer with therapists over behavioral issues.
• Create a safe, productive classroom environment.
