Job summary

Perry Street Prep in Washington, DC is hiring two Resource Room Support Aides for the 2026-2027 school year. One will support our elementary Resource Room and one will support our middle school Resource Room.

Aides work closely with special education teachers to provide individualized and small-group academic support, helping students build skills and confidence. Dedicated aides are full-time, 10-month positions, with hours from 7:45am to 3:45pm during the regular school year, and occasional

Qualifications

• High school degree or GED required.
• Ability to assist in reading, writing and mathematics instruction.
• Strong communication with team, parents and students.
• Solution focused, goal oriented.

• Patient and supportive with assigned students.

Responsibilities

• Create environments and instructional opportunities for diverse learners.
• Assist students with daily classroom lessons and routines.
• Support implementation of daily lesson plans and access to materials.
• Use positive communication techniques sensitive to student needs.
• Administer tests and assignments to support learning progress.
• Implement behavioral and academic strategies per IEPs.
• Communicate with teachers to track student progress and implement IEP objectives.
• Maintain student records and observe progress.
