Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• BLS certification required; active RN license.
• Typically requires 1 year of clinical nursing experience.
• BSN preferred; RN license in required state.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care.
• Monitors patient conditions and adjusts care plans with the care team.
• Upholds a culture of safety across the unit.
• Evaluates patient and unit outcomes and takes action as needed.
• May administer medications, treatments, and therapies per protocols.
• Communicates effectively, provides feedback, and delegates appropriately.
• Pursues ongoing professional development and maintains required certifications.
• Adheres to the ANA Code of Ethics and ethical decision‑making.
• Delivers appropriate care and coordinates with interprofessional teams.
• Maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation.
• May float to other units to meet patient care needs.
