Job summary

Advocate Health IL Resource Team is seeking a qualified Float Registered Nurse to support ICU care across multiple Advocate Health facilities in Illinois. The role requires an RN license, an accredited nursing program, BLS and ACLS, and a minimum of two years ICU experience.

You will float between units and hospitals, delivering high-quality nursing care as needs shift. Flexibility to work across a zone, strong critical care skills, and a patient-centered approach are essential for success in

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
• Minimum 2 years ICU RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Providing safe, therapeutic, evidence-based nursing care in alignment with established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Floating to multiple care environments within a designated Zone, integrating quickly into new departments, and collaborating with diverse teams.
• Leading efforts to support the safest patient environment and best possible patient experience.
• Coordinating care for diverse patient populations within various acute-care, hospital outpatient departments and clinic settings.
• Maintaining the competency required to practice in all acute-care facilities within the designated zone.

Float RNs provide adaptable, high‑quality nursing care across multiple hospitals and units based on organizational need. Teammates must be flexible, skilled, and ready to deliver exceptional care in a wide variety of settings.

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state of practice
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association; and ACLS
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of ICU RN experience required
• Holiday Requirement: 2 holidays per year

We’re Looking For
