Job summary

HCA Florida Blake Hospital in Bradenton, FL is seeking a Resource Nurse to support high-quality, patient-centered care by mentoring new graduates and nurses transitioning to new specialties across multiple units.

The role involves rounds to assess care, identifying educational needs, providing feedback on assessments and care plans, and fostering teamwork to meet unit goals.

Florida RN licensure and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• FL RN licensed per state; compact license requires active FL license within 60 days of hire.
• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
• More than two years as an RN is required.
• More than one year as a Preceptor is preferred.
• More than one year in a leadership role is preferred.
• Previous experience in an acute care setting is strongly preferred.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform rounds on each nursing unit, observing quality of patient care and identifying educational needs.
• Provide feedback on nursing assessments, diagnoses, planning, interventions and evaluation of care.
• Provide feedback and mentoring on patient assessments and care planning.
• Assist with performing or troubleshooting specific skills.
• Maintain IMobile phone for easy contact with new graduates or nurses within support scope.
• Track requests to identify commonly needed skills to enhance orientation and education.
• Foster teamwork and contribute to achieving team goals.
• Attend Rapid Response and codes to observe, debrief, and direct education.
