Job summary

Methuen Hospital is hiring a Critical Resource Nurse to provide 24/7 support to the Rapid Response Team, Code Blue, Stroke Alert, and Code Sepsis pages. The nurse will perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop and update individualized plans of care, and document all care activities per policy.

The role emphasizes improving practice, intervening in near-miss events, and enhancing communication among disciplines while ensuring patient safety with continuous critical care coverage.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• 3–5 years of Critical Care or Emergency Dept experience.
• Massachusetts nursing license required; BCLS and ACLS needed.
• CCRN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24/7 support to Rapid Response, Code Blue, Stroke Alert, and Code Sepsis.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments for the clinical unit.
• Create and update patient care plans, documenting per hospital policy.
• Improve practice and intervene in near-miss events; enhance cross-discipline communication.
• Surveil at-risk patients and support patient safety with 24/7 critical care coverage.

Job Summary:

The Critical Resource Nurse provides 24/7 support to the Rapid Response Team, Code Blue, Stroke Alert, and Code Sepsis pages. The Resource Nurse will complete a comprehensive patient assessment specific to the clinical area/unit. They will create and update the patient plan of care and document all aspects of their care thoroughly per hospital policy.

The Critical Resource Nurse focuses on improving practice and intervening in near-miss events and to improve communication between all disciplines, provide surveillance of at-risk patients, support patient safety and offer critical care nursing 24/7 for staff.

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred.
• Experience: Must have 3-5 years of Critical Care or Emergency Room Department experience
• Certification/ Licensure:
  • Current nursing license in Massachusetts required.
  • BCLS required.
  • ACLS required.
  • Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) preferred.
