Families United Network is seeking a Resource Family Specialist to support children and families by connecting them with resources and advocating for safe, nurturing environments. This community-based role entails travel to multiple locations and independent work in the field.

The position emphasizes building relationships, ensuring regulatory compliance, and coordinating with families to meet children's needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, particularly in social work or a related field.
  • Ability to meet current Pennsylvania legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain required PA Child Abuse, PA State Police, and PA FBI clearances.
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also being an effective member of a team.
  • Compassion and respect for the diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds of the children and families we serve.

Responsabilités

  • Introduce families to resource parenting and the policies and practices.
  • Ensure that all regulatory, and agency requirements are met by resource families.
  • Manage monthly advertising to recruit families by the needs of the program office.
  • Attend community events to share and educate constituents of the agency's purpose as well as recruit for prospective resource families.
  • Assure that all necessary measures are taken in preparing and supporting a resource family to provide for the safety and welfare of a child or children as a parent would.
  • Attend required meetings, conferences, trainings, and other agency functions as required.
  • Manage work time appropriately, be punctual for appointments, and complete assignments and reports on time.

What You’ll Do

As a Resource Family Specialist you will work with resource families to help support the needs and goals of the children we serve. Your work will include:

This Is a Community-Based Position

Travel is an essential part of this role. You must be able to independently travel to required locations and maintain reliable transportation for work-related travel. Because the needs of children and families vary, the work schedule may also vary. This is not a primarily office-based position. Successful candidates should be comfortable traveling regularly, working independently in the community, managing multiple appointments and locations, and working in a variety of environments.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to sit for extended periods, as well as stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the workday. Employees must be able to lift and carry up to 10–15 pounds and operate standard office equipment and technology. Clear communication in person, by phone, and electronically is required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
