Job summary

Cornerstones of Care in Kansas City KS is seeking a dedicated Family Support Specialist to assist families, coordinate resources, and support placement finding teams. You will maintain records in Avatar and Care Match, communicate with the case management team, and help identify placements for children based on current family information.

Requirements include 2+ years in child welfare, a BA in social work or related field (MSW preferred with adoption/foster care experience), 21+, valid driver

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in a child welfare arena.
• Bachelor’s degree in social work or other human services related field.
• Master’s degree in social work preferred, and adoption and foster care experience preferred.
• At least 21 years of age and able to pass background, physical, and drug screening.
• A valid driver’s license in the state you reside in, proof of current vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist assigned families with problem‑solving, obtaining resources, and addressing identified needs.

• Ensure electronic records in Avatar and Care Match are accurate and current.

• Support additional Resource Development functions through community recruitment events, screening potential resource families, leading information meetings, etc.
