Job summary

Grand Traverse Resort and Spa seeks a Security Officer to uphold safety standards across the property. You will patrol exterior areas, respond to alarms, manage perimeters, and coordinate with emergency services as needed.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, 1+ year security-related experience, a valid driver's license, and CPR/AED training is preferred. This role requires strong observation and reporting skills and the ability to operate security systems.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of experience in security, military, law enforcement, or related field.
• Must hold a current, valid driver’s license and be able to qualify for driving resort vehicles.
• CPR and AED training is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Check all exterior buildings per checklist.
• Check designated PIVs at specified locations.
• Perform drive-through inspections of resort sites, including lighting, doors, and security observations.
• Respond to exterior alarms and incidents; coordinate with emergency services as needed.
• Monitor and secure gates and perimeters; ensure proper locking of access points.
• Communicate with Shift Commander and other staff via radio.
• Escort cashiers and transport guests/employees as required.
• Write clear, complete incident and security reports.
• Adhere to resort environmental practices and policies.
