Overview
Resort Maintenance Technicians perform routine and preventative maintenance to maintain the physical integrity of Suns resorts. They conduct building maintenance repairs and are responsible for cleanliness and upkeep of property grounds, facilities, streets, equipment & various utility systems. Maintenance Technicians provide excellent customer service to prospective & current guests and residents at all times, and may assist with site setups to ensure timely arrivals and departures of resort guests and residents.
Job Duties
- Empty trash, shovel, perform maintenance or repair duties, use power equipment, drills or other hand tools.
- Complete minor repairs to rental units and facilities as needed.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor emergency repairs, plumbing, sewage, construction & street repair.
- Inspect irrigation systems regularly and repair as necessary.
- Inspect playgrounds, pool/spa areas, and recreational amenities, making minor repairs as needed.
- Maintain the resort's curb appeal by ensuring it is presentable and inviting.
- Perform lawn care services such as weed control, planting, mulching, trimming, and removing damaged tree limbs.
- Ensure trash/debris is picked up daily from common areas and streets.
- Clean resort amenities including clubhouses, courts, offices, restrooms, laundry areas, and maintenance garages.
- Maintain vacant sites and remove trash and debris.
- Remove snow from streets, parking lots, and entrances using appropriate equipment.
- Inspect tied-down RVs, park models, and mobile homes for damage and cleanliness prior to sale.
- Complete checklists of resort site conditions before and after guest occupancy.
- Assist Resort Manager with supervising service contractors.
- Report maintenance issues identified during daily duties.
- Ensure resort streets and access routes are hazard-free.
- Maintain resort pools, testing and adjusting chemical levels.
- Maintain resort vehicles and equipment.
- Follow safety procedures, including operating vehicles safely.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 6 months of maintenance experience in a campground or RV resort.
- Knowledge of general maintenance techniques and repairs.
- Ability to work outdoors in seasonal temperatures.
- Knowledge of janitorial work, plumbing, and grounds maintenance.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power equipment, and machinery.
- Ability to write legible reports.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Must lift at least 50 pounds.
- Basic computer skills (email, internet).
- Availability for on-call work outside of regular hours.

Position is entry level, part-time. Responsibilities include maintenance, groundskeeping, customer service, and safety. Candidates should be prepared for outdoor work and physical tasks. Response to resort needs during non-business hours is required.
