Job summary

Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, VA seeks an HVAC Technician to maintain refrigeration and HVAC systems across the property. You will perform preventive maintenance, install and modify equipment, and assist other maintenance personnel as needed beyond HVAC.

Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of HVAC experience, CFC qualification, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift 50 pounds and work varied shifts including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience with HVAC systems.
• CFC qualification is required.
• Journeyman’s card is a plus; Master card preferred or 20 years experience.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Ability to read schematics and manuals.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and perform heavy labor.
• Comfort working days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Job description

Overview:

This position functions as part of the property maintenance and engineering team, providing the general maintenance of the Refringeration and HVAC equipment throughout the property. This work is to include new installations, preventive maintenance and estimations for work (man hours, materials and equipment). The HVAC Technicians also provide leadership and training for other HVAC personnel and assist other maintenance personnel with general maintenance tasks as needed outside HVAC.

Responsibilities:

• Performs preventative maintenance on Refrigeration and HVAC equipment throughout the property.
• Installs new equipment and modifies existing equipment.
• Performs general maintenance tasks necessary for repair and maintenance of facility.
• Performs a variety of duties troubleshooting and repairing HVAC equipment (breakdown issues) for the property location.
• Accountable for materials used and ordering of items needed for job completion or inventory replacement per established Company procedure.

• Follow all policy, procedures and service standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Skilled in use of tools common to the trade
• Knowledge of safety and health requirements required for HVAC positions
• Possess strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and manuals
• Must possess a valid driver's license
• Must possess physical stamina and condition to withstand heavy labor related work in a variety of inside/outside environments that may include exposure to various types of weather both cold/hot including exposure to the sun, capable of lifting, pushing or pulling and carrying objects weighing a minimum of 50 pounds, climbing ladders both “A” and extension and stairs, ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, bend at waist and perform repetitive foot and hand action repetitively throughout the 8 hour shift.
• Possess hand/eye/foot coordination
• CFC qualified
• Experience with chiller and boiler systems
• Experience with refrigeration systems
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with/repairing HVAC systems
• Journeyman’s card a plus
• Master HVAC trade card OR 20 years’ experience with commercial HVAC equipment, preferred
• Ability to work days, nights, weekends, holidays required
