Job summary

Westgate Resorts is seeking an Engineering Technician to help keep our Kailua resort safe and comfortable. You will tackle a variety of maintenance tasks, from painting and caulking to plumbing troubleshooting and electronics servicing, while delivering excellent guest service.

Join a team focused on reliability and safety. The role requires a high school diploma and 0–1 year of hands-on maintenance, with a valid driver's license and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required or equivalent.
• 0–1 year hands-on maintenance/trades experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license in good standing.
• Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work with energy and focus.
• Excellent communication skills with guests and team members.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance tasks and tackle assigned projects by resort leadership.
• Carry out general repairs (painting, caulking, wall touch-ups) to keep the property in top condition.
• Troubleshoot plumbing issues—unclog drains, diagnose toilet, tub, faucet problems.
• Replace light bulbs, verify voltage, and maintain lighting systems.
• Install and replace TVs, program remotes, and troubleshoot common electronics.
• Diagnose appliances, swap parts, or assist with full replacements when needed.
• Support inventory and procurement to ensure tools and materials are on hand.
• Use resort systems and software to track and complete tasks efficiently.
• Communicate professionally with guests and team members, in person or via phone/radio/email.
• Perform hands-on maintenance and cleaning duties as directed by leadership.
• Operate hand/power tools, lifts, scaffolding, and other equipment safely.
• Recognize hazards and take proactive steps to ensure safety.
