Job summary

Westgate Resorts by VI creates exceptional vacation experiences at Sea Village Resort on the Big Island. As an Engineering Technician, you’ll tackle maintenance projects, resolve guest issues, and help keep the property safe and welcoming.

Requirements include a high school diploma and up to 1 year of hands-on maintenance, plus a valid driver’s license. You’ll work with tools, assist with inventory, and communicate professionally with guests and team members.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• 0–1 year hands-on maintenance experience, preferably in resort/commercial setting.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, energetic.
• Excellent communication to guests and team members.
• Able to lift 50+ pounds regularly.

Responsibilities

• Tackle projects, guest calls, blitzes, and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Perform general repairs like painting, caulking, and touch-ups.
• Troubleshoot plumbing issues and diagnose toilets, tubs, showers, sinks.
• Replace light bulbs and check voltage; maintain lighting systems.
• Install/replace TVs, program remotes, troubleshoot electronics.
• Diagnose appliances and assist with part replacements.
• Support inventory and procurement for tools/materials.
• Use resort systems to track/complete tasks.
• Communicate professionally with guests and team members.
• Perform hands-on maintenance and cleaning as directed.
• Operate hand/power tools and PPE safely.
• Identify hazards and ensure safety measures.
• Represent VI Resorts by Westgate with professionalism.
• Take on other tasks to support operations.
