Job summary

Juniper Preserve, located in Bend, Oregon, within Troon, is seeking a Resort Gardener to maintain outdoor spaces and contribute to a fast-paced hospitality team. Under the Landscape Manager’s guidance, you’ll perform routine groundskeeping, operate small battery tools, and help care for plant material.

You’ll wear safety gear, follow instructions, and coordinate with colleagues to keep equipment clean, serviced, and stored, while delivering courteous service to members and guests.

Qualifications

  • No special education required.
  • Must understand oral instructions.
  • Must comprehend topics of a conceptual nature.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of job-related instruction manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Operate small battery equipment safely: hand tools, blowers, mowers, and trimmers.
  • Install and maintain plant material.
  • Ensure that tools and equipment are cleaned and stored at day end.
  • Perform minor repairs and preventive maintenance on equipment and hand tools.
  • Wear supplied safety equipment as required: safety glasses, earplugs, back support, etc.

Juniper Preserve, located in Bend, OR, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Resort Gardener! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast‑paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you’ll contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.


Summary

As a Resort Gardener, you will play an essential role in maintaining the beauty and functionality of outdoor spaces at Juniper Preserve. Under the direct supervision of the Landscape Manager and Landscape Supervisor, you will perform routine manual labor to support the upkeep, enhancement, and health of our landscapes and grounds.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • The safe and skilled operation of small battery equipment: Hand Tools, Blowers, Rotary Mowers, and String Trimmers

  • Installation and maintenance of plant material.

  • Ensures that at the end of the day the equipment and hand tools are thoroughly cleaned and then stored in its proper location.

  • Perform minor repairs and preventive maintenance on equipment and hand tools.

  • Required to wear supplied safety equipment as required: Safety Glasses, Earplugs, Back Support, etc.

  • Reports equipment problems or failures to the supervisor immediately.

  • Able to effectively handle multiple tasks

  • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.

  • Regular and reliable attendance.

  • Maintains a professional standard at Juniper Preserve including, but not limited to, appearance, interaction with members, associates, guests of the club, verbal discussions and written correspondence. Does not discuss work related issues with members and resort guests.

  • Maintains positive attitude and the flexibility to take on new and different tasks as assigned by the Landscape Manager.
