Job summary

Magnolia Houston is seeking a Facilities/Engineering Leader to head the engineering department for our hotel. You will oversee maintenance, repairs, life-safety, landscaping, environmental initiatives, and vehicle and parking operations to ensure guest comfort and safety.

You will manage inventory, respond to emergencies, ensure compliance with codes, and lead capital improvement projects while directing a skilled team of mechanics and technicians. A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of leadership experience in facilities management or similar property.
• Proven track record in preventative maintenance of public areas, guestrooms, and property.
• Experience with capital improvement projects and FF&E.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local codes.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the hotel facility and related equipment safely and efficiently.
• Manage inventory of parts, supplies, tools, and materials.
• Respond to emergencies such as fire alarms and life-safety events.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
• Oversee maintenance of structure, systems, and equipment.
• Verify completion of routine maintenance and repairs in spaces and offices.
• Certify employees’ qualifications and licenses.
• Negotiate contracts with consultants and contractors.
• Prepare annual operating budget for payroll, expenses, utilities, and capital projects.
• Direct ADA compliance efforts.
• Oversee vehicle operations and parking areas.
