Job summary

Magnolia Hotels in Houston seeks an experienced Engineering/Facilities Leader to oversee the maintenance, repair, and operation of the property's equipment and systems. You will manage inventory, respond to emergencies, and ensure compliance with life-safety and environmental standards.

The role requires strong leadership, budgeting, and contract management skills, with a focus on preventative maintenance across guestrooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of leadership experience in facilities management or related properties.
• Experience in organizing, implementing, and maintaining a preventative maintenance tracking system and work order system.
• Experience coordinating hospitality capital improvement projects (public areas and guestrooms renovations, FF&E repairs).
• Firm understanding of Federal, State and local codes as they apply to facilities.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and energy management.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering department and oversee maintenance, repair, and operation of property equipment and systems.
• Manage inventory of parts, supplies, tools, and materials for the department.
• Respond to emergency situations including life-safety events.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable codes and regulations.
• Conduct walks-through to assess safety and efficiency of structures, systems and equipment.
• Verify completion of routine maintenance and repairs in public spaces and back-of-house areas.
• Oversee contracts with consultants and contractors; manage approved budgets.
