Job summary

Pet Paradise is seeking a Resort Associate to care for dogs and provide exceptional pet services at our North Carolina location. The role includes hands-on pet care, safety, and maintaining clean accommodations.

Starting rate is $13.50/hour with $0.50 raises at six months and on the annual anniversary. We offer training programs, health benefits for full-time staff, and various employee perks to grow within the company.

Qualifications

• Genuine passion for working with animals.
• Cheerful, friendly, and a positive team-oriented attitude.
• Flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and peak times.
• Able to follow instructions and adapt to training materials.
• Comfortable around dogs of all sizes and capable of lifting up to 60 lbs.
• This position involves substantial physical labor including pet handling, cleaning, and maintenance of suites.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and interact with pets inside the resort and in outdoor play yards.
• Follow feeding times, amounts, and types of food.
• Maintain cleanliness of suites and dog runs by disinfecting and cleaning.
• Empty trash, mop floors, and clean restrooms and breakroom.
• Monitor and record information about pets and report unusual behaviors or injuries to management/veterinarian.
• Use proper dog handling techniques as instructed by management.
• Keep dogs secure and uphold high standards of pet safety per training policies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF OUR RESORT ASSOCIATE INCLUDE:

• Supervise and interact with pets both inside the resort and outside in the play yards
• Following directions on feeding times, amounts, and type of food
• Maintaining cleanliness of suites and dog runs by disinfecting, washing floors, scrubbing walls and removing animal waste
• Emptying trash, mopping all floors, and cleaning restrooms, common areas, and the employee breakroom
• Monitoring and recording important information about our pets and reporting any unusual behaviors, injuries, or critical information to management and veterinarian services if applicable
• Using proper dog handling techniques as instructed by management
• Keeping dogs secure and maintaining a high standard of pet safety by following and adhering to the training policies

QUALIFICATIONS TO BE A RESORT ASSOCIATE

• This position requires a considerable amount of physical labor, including pet handling, walking, cleaning, and maintenance of the suites
• True passion for working with animals
• Cheerful, friendly, and a positive team-oriented attitude
• Comfortable being around dogs of all sizes and physically able to lift up to 60 lbs
• Flexibility to resort schedule needs including days, night, weekends, holidays, and peak times
• Ability to receive instructions and remain adaptive to change and training material
