Job Summary

Operates resistance welding equipment to join metal parts by performing spot or continuous weld seams according to specifications on repetitive tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Runs production spot and seam welds, inspecting weld quality visually.
• Loads pre-established weld schedules and electrodes, prepares sample coupons, and adjusts equipment as needed.
• Regulates current input and water-cooling, follows testing procedures, and works from technical drawings and instructions.
• Uses process control charts to monitor and report process variations.
• Coordinates with maintenance for preventive upkeep of welding equipment.
• Adheres to safety rules, quality system requirements, and completes all required documentation accurately.
• Supports team efforts and meets attendance policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3-6 months of related experience or training in welding procedures.
• Must pass a Level 1 resistance welding test and have at least 40 documented mentoring hours.

Skills

• Ability to read and interpret technical documents in English.
