Job summary

Pretium Packaging, L.L.C. in Salt Lake City, UT is seeking a diligent Material Handler to join our on-site operations. You will gather, weigh, and blend materials, maintain raw material supplies to machines, and ensure accurate documentation of material movement.

The role requires forklift experience, knowledge of inventory control, and basic computer systems. You will support QA, sanitation, and safety programs while helping keep the warehouse clean and organized.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Forklift experience required.
• 1-2 years of related experience and/or training preferred.
• Must have a thorough knowledge of the facilities inventory movement for both shipping and inventory control.
• Working knowledge of computer operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Gather, weigh and blend materials.
• Maintain supply of raw materials to machines (raw material, colors, etc.).
• Grind material, label regrind, keep grinding area organized and clean.
• Assists in purging machines and cleaning magnets in the hopper throat.
• Connect vacuum system to supply material to machines.
• Document movement of materials and complete all required paperwork.
• Gather lot control information for Quality Control.
• Help to monitor inventory levels and advise inventory control of low volumes.
• Unload bulk resin trailers.
• Keep work area clean and maintain proper housekeeping and sanitation.
• Maintains safety in the department.
• Perform other warehousing and related tasks.
• Monitor and verify activities to ensure that all products coming in and out of the facility meet food safety standards.
• Comply with all company food safety and quality assurance procedures and document data correctly at all times.
• Ensure all work product contact surfaces are restored to sanitary condition after any job completion.
• Report any product or process failures that could impact food safety of manufactured product to Quality and/or Line/Maintenance Supervision.
